Coach McKay is in his seventh year as Head Boys Cross Country and Track & Field Coach, bringing more than 25 years of experience to the program.
Coach McKay’s excellence in coaching has been put on display with many recent accolades. Over the last six years, he has led the Girls Cross Country team to six straight regional team appearances. Additionally, over the last three years he has led the Boys Cross Country team to three straight regional team appearances. In 2022, he led the Girls Cross Country team to a conference title. Most recently, in 2025 he led the Boys Track & Field team to a conference championship and led the Girls Cross Country team to a district championship. Additionally, he has led numerous track and field runners to state qualifying events.
As a student athlete, Coach McKay was a 4-year letter winner at the University of Washington. There he qualified and competed in the 1991 NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships.
Prior to his current role, Coach McKay served as the Head Coach at St. Matthews for nine years. He has also served at New World TC for six years, and University Prep High School in Seattle, Washington for three years.
