Campus Ministry

The goal of the Campus Ministry Program at Bishop Hartley High School is to foster and grow the Catholic culture of the school in which members of the Hartley family are led to follow Christ more closely, making God known, loved, served, and celebrated throughout our community.
The success of our program rests in our families and parishes, as the formation of faith occurs first in the home and the parish community. The Campus Ministry Program is a resource for students as they continue to live and explore their faith. We also serve parents as they strive to live out their sacred role as prime educators of children in the faith.

The Campus Ministry Program at Bishop Hartley strongly encourages parents and students to maintain a spiritual connection with the universal Church in active participation at their home parish. Faithful and constant celebration of the sacraments is essential to the spiritual life of individuals, families, and communities.

If we can be of service in assisting you in your faith formation, please feel free to contact Mr. Sam Agra, Director of Campus Ministry or Brother Anthony Essien, Chaplain.

Campus Ministry Program

List of 4 items.

  • Pastoral Care

Our Campus Ministry team works to create a Catholic culture that grows the faith and meets the spiritual needs of all students. The Campus Ministry team alongside clergy and religious serving on the Religion team, the House Director, Religion Team Leader, and Vice Principal of Student Life serve as additional pastoral caregivers. We also sponsor several clubs to support spiritual growth for our students.
  • Liturgies

Bishop Hartley offers Masses, Adoration, and confession 4 days a week in addition to our monthly all school Masses celebrated by our chaplain and local parish priests. Students have the opportunity to assist in various liturgical ministries such as lectoring, cantoring, Adoration and altar serving.
  • Class Retreats

Each grade level participates in a class retreat, giving students the opportunity to get away from the business of school life and grow in community and love of Christ. Bishop Hartley is excited to partner with Damascus Catholic Mission Campus, home of Catholic Youth Summer Camp, for our upperclassmen retreats.
  • Spiritual Life

There are activities that are considered integral to our religious curriculum, including daily prayer in class, celebration of the Eucharist, the celebration of the sacrament of Reconciliation, retreat opportunities, Adoration, and service to the community.
